Power issue and Audio Loop through cut out

Category: Software
Product Number: EZKIT BF706

Hi

Background:-

Got an EZKIT-BF706 evaluation board. I've built the AudioFilter_Callback_BF706Mini  example, and blown it onto the eval kit using elfloader.exe and cldp.exe.

Questions:-

1. Why does powering the eval kit via the DA USB from a 5v power bank not work when powering from a PC USB (CrossCore ES not running) port does ?

Powering from a powerbank via P8 works fine. Note: JP2 has been changed to select the correct (P8/DA) USB connector.

2. Why, when running the above example, does the audio feedthrough stop working after about 4 minutes 10 seconds ? It can be restored by pressing the board's reset button.

Cheers

Adrian

Thread Notes

  • Hi Adrian,

Enabling the Single-Channel Power Distribution Switch (SOIC8 MIC2025-1) is required if you need to power the board via DA power source. The USB Mini B cannot be used to power the board alone because it is connected via the debug agent which generates this enable signal. However, if you want to power the board using power bank by via USB port (P8) then for debugging you have to use USB Mini B (ZP1).

Regarding the second question, we are checking now. We will get back to you.

  • Hi

Done a bit of Googling and found an earlier post which pointed out that there is a counter in the examples that acts as a cut throat (thanks to Jerry !).

Disabled that and all is now OK.

Like Jerry, I should have taken a look at the code before posting.

Thanks for your reply regarding the power issue.

    Regards

    Adrian
