Extending analog inputs for ADZS-SC584-EZLITE

Please note that, The SHARC Audio EZ-Extender is designed as an extender board to the ADSP-214xx EZ-Board evaluation systems.

You can use EI3 SDP Breakout Board (ADZS-BRKOUT-EX3)to connect with ADSP-SC584 EZ-KIT Lite.

The breakout board allows signals travelling between SDP controller boards and compatible daughter boards to be monitored by the insertion of the breakout board between the SDP controller board and the daughter board.

EI3 SDP Breakout Board is an expansion board that exposes each of the 120 pins of the EI3 connector, allowing users to monitor signals between the controlling board and the attached daughter evaluation board.

The Expansion Interface III (EI3) implemented on the ADSP-SC584 EZ-Board consists of three connectors: P1A, P1B and P1C.

thanks for quickly answering!

My current understanding is I only need the EI3 SDP Breakout Board to connect my SC584 Eval Board to a SDP daughter board, that is also Expansion Interface 3 compatible. So I would now need a fitting daughter board. I found the EVAL-BFAUDIO-EZEXT (EVAL-BFAUDIO-EZEXT Evaluation Board | Analog Devices), but this is only specified for blackfin boards. But as it is compatible with the expansion interface 3, it should also work here, correct?

Sadly it only adds 8 inputs, but I would need 12 to 16 additional analog microphone inputs with RCA connectors. Is it correct, that I would be able to connect 3 EI3 SDP Breakout Boards + Daughter Boards to the SC584 eval board - one each for the connectors 1A, 2A and 3A at the SC584 Eval board? I would just need the I2S / SPORT connection between the SC584 and the daughter board and there are 2 SPORT connection on each of the 3 connectors.

Our sincere apologies for the delayed response. Here is an update from our Internal team.

The EI3-HDMIAUDIO requires an HDMI license to order it and gain access to the documentation.

We don’t offer any other boards with additional audio input/outputs for the EI3 interface.
