CCES Support for ADSP-21161N

Category: Software

We are considering doing some significant maintenance work on an old product that uses the ADSP-21161N with software that was written with VisualDSP++.  I'd like to upgrade to CCES, but I have the following questions about support:

  1. It looks like the CCES Simulator does NOT support the ADSP-21161N.  Is that correct?
  2. It looks like the CCES Debugger does NOT support the ADSP-21161N.  Is that correct?  If so, what is the best method for debugging?
  3. It looks like the ICE-1000 and ICE-2000 Emulators DO support the ADSP-21161N.  Is that correct?
  4. Can CCES Runner with an ICE-1000 be used to automatically upload an executable file to the ADSP-21161N and execute it?
  5. Are there any (other) limitations in CCES support for the ADSP-21161N?

    >> CCES will support simulator/emulator/debug agent session on ADSP-21161N processor. But, please note "ADSP-21161 EZ-KIT Lite via Debug Agent" session supports only with EZ-kit.

Can CCES Runner with an ICE-1000 be used to automatically upload an executable file to the ADSP-21161N and execute it?
    >> Yes, it is possible.
