What is Standard DSP Serial Mode in SPORTs?

Hi,

In SPORTs driver, there is Standard DSP Serial Mode.

I'd like to know what's the diffrence between this mode and TDM mode.

Could you please give me a figure to explain the timing?

Thanks.

  • Hi Foster,

In Standard DSP serial mode, you can send one serial data at every frame sync assertion and de-assertion. Here frame sync is required for every single data transfer. Please refer the Frame Sync operation topic of Serial port section in hrm manual.

In TDM mode, you can send 124 channel of serial data at every frame sync assertion and de-assertion. Every channel can contain 8 bit, 16 bit, 32 bit or 64 bit of serial data. Once the frame sync signal is asserted, word transfers are performed continuously for the duration of the active window, and no further frame syncs are required for different channels within the window.

Please refer the attached images, it helpful to understand the timing diagram of TDM mode and Standard DSP serial mode.
