AD1934 I2C control

Hello,

I want to hook up a AD1934 Audio DAC to a SigmaDSP processor.

The control will be done by an external microcontroller using I2C.

The problem is that the datasheet is unclear about how to use I2C or wether it even supports it.

There are several references to I2C, for example in the pin descriptions.

"Other members of this family include a differential DAC
output and I2CRegistered control port version.".

This makes me believe that it might not support it, but it is unclear what the other family members are.

P.S. This might be in the wrong section because it is more related to the DAC than the SigmaDSP but I did not saw a proper section to post my question.

    Hello Tomoto,

You are quite correct that the diagram on the product page shows I2C. This is an error that I will put in a request to correct right after I send this post. If you look at the first page of the datasheet it is a different diagram. This is an SPI only part.

Can I ask you how many DAC channels does your application require? We have other newer parts that may be good for your design.

    Thanks,

    Dave T
