ADAU1702 simultaneous signal path question

In our application, we need to simultaneously do the following with the ADAU1702:

 

  1. Analog signal IN to ADC0 and ADC1, convert to digital
  2. Route that digital signal OUT to another micro for additional processing
  3. Route a processed version from the microcontroller IN to the digital in on the ADAU1702
  4. Play that processed signal out on speakers from the ADAU1702.

 

Will the ADAU1702 support that?

    Hi RobM,

    Sorry for the delayed response. I must have overlooked your question when you originally posted it.

    Yes, the architecture you have proposed is certainly possible with the ADAU1702. There's just one small technical inaccuracy with your diagram. There's no direct connection between the converters and the serial ports, so the data needs to go in and out via the DSP. The signal path is as follows: in first through the ADC, then to the DSP, then out the serial output port, to the micro, in through the serial input port, into the DSP, and finally out of the DAC.
