Discontinued?

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADAU1797

I recently wanted to start a project involving the ADAU1797, but after a little looking, it says it is discontinued (https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/4413696.pdf). On the Analog website however, it still says recommended for new designs. Parts distributors do not seem to have them now either. Could anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks!

  • Hello BKr0n,

After using and developing the part we found some issues with the part. Ao we made some changes to the part and released as a new part number. ADAU1791A and discontinued the original part number.

ADAU1797A Datasheet and Product Info | Analog Devices

This part is rather complex and was developed for a large manufacturer but it was not exclusive. So we can offer the part to the general market. However, we are not setup well for teaching how to use this part. Between the FastDSP core and the HiFiZ core it requires special tools and knowledge.

We do not have the resources to support it for customers who do not know these processors. I am surprised this is listed on the open web site. Contact us if you need more support and we could refer you over to 3rd party design firms that may be able to help you.
