Equalizer

Question

I want to make an equalizer with the ability to change parameters in real time, I use medium EQ, but when I boost certain frequencies, the level of the output signal increases, how can I equalize the output signal in level to the input??

Hello VTFC, 
 Here is an example of one way to do an EQ with the ability to use the AUX ADC pots to control the EQ.

 This example has DC cells where the pots would be since the small ADAU1701MINIZ eval board only has one pot. 
 I also want to point out in case you are not aware that the ADAU1401 and the ADAU1701 are compatible parts and function exactly the same. So any posts on the forum for the 1701 directly apply to the 1401. There are SO MANY posts on the forum for the 1701 that you should be able to find answers to most of your questions already on the forum. 
 
 The level issue is basic audio issue. If you boost with an EQ you will raise the level and might clip the signal. I suggest you use a compressor with the thresholds set just above what a normal level would be without EQ. Then if you add some EQ it will limit the level. 
 Setting up a compressor timing constants is a little tricky.
