Auto EQ constantly tries to boost some frequencies even if it should not

Category: Software
Product Number: 0

Hello, I'm trying to use auto eq block to equalize the response of a speaker. I would like the filters to have only NEGATIVE boosts. As you can see in the image, I set the target curve to be a lot lower (in DBs) than the measured response from the speaker.

The problem is no matter what options I use in the "design settins" tab (advanced settings), the software will always try to boost some frequencies. In this particular case, you can see the speaker has a dip around 1700hz and the software tries to boost the 1700hz as much as it is allowed. Setting the "gain max" option to 0 results in a completely unusable filter. Setting the "gain max" option to a low level (for example = 1) results in the software boosting different frequencies close to 1700hz by 1db, like it is trying to work around my contraints.

Any help?
