Will the ADAU1467 ever get Frequency Domain blocks in Sigma Studio

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADAU1467

The original SigmaStudio toolbox wiki listed the ADAU1467 in frequency domain processing as of 2020, the draft updated front page has it removed.

I'm just wondering if this functionality will come to ADAU1467 any time soon? By all accounts it's the same chip with more memory and data capability, so I'm curious as to why it wouldn't.

Cheers

  • Hello David,

The sigma300/350 family processors do support frequency domain processing but it's very limited with the available blocks in frequency domain (block processing), but often frequency-domain processing would require the development of a custom block. So, the ready-made blocks are very limited.

Below is where you can find the block schematic tab and see available frequency domain modules.

So, what do you expect and what is your application?

    Regards,

    Harish

  • Ahoy! Yes, I found them shortly after I asked the question. What I want is to get a constant rough check of spectrum energy across a handful of bands as a method of checking for impulsive noise in realtime or close to it i.e. if there's more than a certain level on most or all bands, then combined with other detectors for rate of change in the time domain, to be used as a more effective way of detecting real time clicks/pops. i.e. make it more selective and have less impact on desired transient information.
