When the sampling rate of the S/PDIF input signal is 192 KHz and the output signal of the ADAU1452 is distorted

Category: Software

Hi:

When the sampling rate of the S/PDIF input signal is 192 KHz and the output signal of the ADAU1452 is distorted, I found in the specification that the S/PDIF audio sampling rate is 8-96 KHz.

Is there a way to solve this problem?

Thanks & Regards

  • Hello Gavin,

As mentioned in the datasheet, the SPDIF rates can't go above 96KHz in sigma300 (ADAU1451/1452) parts.

For 192KHz SPDIF input, you have to try sigma350 (ADAU1462/1466 or ADAU1463/1467) parts which supports SPDIF sampling rates up to 192KHz.

Please note that the output rate of the SPDIF will follow the start pulse rate. So, it will output at the rate of what the core is set to. This is common.
