SigmaDSP with AEC selection

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADAU1781

Hello,

We are evaluating new codecs for our future touchpanel. I haved seen your ADAU1781 codec/dsp that can be configured though the SigmaStudio.

We are searching a codec able to receive the input data from 2 Mic and output a Stereo signal to an Amplifier. This codec will be applied to a touch similar to the our actual KNXIQ.

The codec need to be able to implement:

  • Audio Echo Cancellation
  • Noise suppression
  • Equalization
  • Gain Control
  • Automatic Gain Control (optional)

And need to be easy configure though a simple software, as the SigmaStudio.

The codec will be used under Linux or Android OS.

Can you help me to understand if the ADAU1781 can match our requirements?

Thanks

  • Hello ypkdani,

The part you referenced, the ADAU1781 is obsolete. It would not be powerful enough to meet your needs.

The ADAU1452 can do what you are asking for but it does not have built in converters. An external codec would still be required for analog signals however, if all you need is to take in signals from two mics and send audio out to an amplifier, then you will not require a codec. You can use digital mics with either a PDM or I2S output. Both are readily available. Then send a digital I2S signal out of the DSP directly to a Class-D amplifier that takes a digital input. No need for a codec. The ADAU1452 can do everything you listed.

You will need to have a processor that interprets the Linux commands and controls the objects in the DSP.

We have Echo Cancellation, and Noise reduction available to be licensed with very reasonable terms. All the rest can be done with the standard SigmaStudio library blocks.
