Dear ADs Team,
I am new to EVAL-ADAU1466Z and SigmaStudio. I am wondering if there is a sample SigmaStudio project performing data 'recording' from an input line, say 'I/O 1', to a single txt/ASCII file (in HDD/PC). Otherwise, please let me know a way to use this evaluation kit for audio measurement.
I am looking forward for having your kind response. Thank you very much.
Regards/ A. Oey
Hello A. Oey,
IF you want to stream the audio from the DSP into a file on your computer then you will need some additional hardware. We do not have the hardware on the evaluation boards to do this at this point. The USB interface that comes with it is only for controlling and programming the DSP and cannot stream the audio back up to the computer.
So you will need something like this to do it:
Regarding making audio measurements. There have been a few posts about measuring things like THD. You can search the forum for some of those solution ideas.
The SigmaDSP is not setup for performing test equipment-like measurements but you can do some things. What is difficult is things like an FFT spectrum display. Getting the results of an FFT is not easy to get out of the DSP and to a computer for analysis.
Thank you very much for your kind explanation. I will use my EVAL-ADAU1466Z for other work. Now I am considering to buy ADSP-21584, or maybe ADSP-SC584W, but I am not sure which one is best fitted for an online acquisition application. Also, I am not sure if I can order these processors in an evaluation kit. Anyhow, I will think about it later.
Best regards, A. Oey
