Features/Bug Fix in Sigma Studio v4.6

Dear Team,

I am planning to use the latest version of Sigma Studio i.e. Sigma Studio v4.6.

I have gone through the Release document for this revised version of Sigma Studio and noticed several bug fixes as well as features introduced from the older version of Sigma Studio v4.5.

However , I would like to further understand what exact “issues” have been resolved or fixed ; for certain modules in detail which is not explicitly described both in the Release Document / Analog website.

Here are a few cases where I would request detailed description of the issue fixed :

1) An issue with the DSP calculation General second order filter which causing the boost to be wrong is resolved

2) UI issue with the Nth Order filter module which causing the coefficients to change is resolved

3) Issues with Holders EQ/ High order shelving filters which causing the SigmaStudio project file not to open in some cases resolved.

4) Issues in Standard RMS compressor GUI is resolved.

Regards

Hermione

Dear Joshua,

Thanks for the details.

We have further queries on other features and Bug Fixes enumerated in the Release document.

I would like to further understand what exact “issues” have been…

  • Hello, here are further details on these four items:

    1. An issue with the DSP calculation General second order filter which causing the boost to be wrong is resolved
      1. Processor:   ADAU145x and ADAU146x
      2. Module:       Parametric EQ
      3. Description: Calculated filter coefficients are close, but incorrect. For example, a parametric EQ at 1kHz with -6dB should give a 6dB cut at 1KHz whereas the wrongly calculated coefficient caused only 3dB of attenuation.

    2. UI issue with the Nth Order filter module which causing the coefficients to change is resolved
      1. Processor:    ADAU145x and ADAU146x
      2. Module:        All Nth Order Filters
      3. Description:  When switching between the schematic view and the hardware configuration tab with an ADAU1466, coefficients for all Nth order filter cells in the project are changed on the hardware, even if they have not been modified.

    3. Issues with Holters EQ/ High order shelving filters which causing the SigmaStudio project file not to open in some cases resolved.
      1. Processor:     ADAU145x and ADAU146x
      2. Module:         Holters EQ (Filters ->High Order Shelving -> High Order Shelving Table  Interpolator Ext Gain)
      3. Description:   An exception error occurs if negative index ranges are provided to the Holters EQ module.

    4. Issues in Standard RMS compressor GUI is resolved.
      1. Processor:     ADAU145x and ADAU146x
      2. Module:         Standard RMS Compressor
      3. Description:   Hold values in exported files will be 0 unless the control GUI is opened. Additionally, compressor ratios displayed on the control and the rational value used internally are not in sync.

    Best regards,

    Joshua

I would like to further understand what exact “issues” have been resolved or fixed ; for certain modules in detail which is not explicitly described both in the Release Document / Analog website.

Also certain bug fixes have either not been found in Sigma Studio v4.5 or have been found not to be resolved in Sigma Studio v4.6 . Please share your feedback on this:

Below is the Summary of our verification alongside query corresponding to each bug fix/feature.
