EZ-KIT 21061 RS-232 Communication

Hey everyone!

Using an EZ-KIT Lite 21061 for a final year uni project and would like to use the RS-232 interface to communicate with a unitronics PLC. The PLC will be used to send parameters to the DSP every so often by writing to specificied memory locations, similar to the way described in EE-87 and chapter 6.3 of the 2106x Reference Manual attached.

I would like to begin by testing the interface out with hyperterminal as per CraigGs instructions (15/09/09):

I'm not getting any response though. I've used the EZ-KIT host program to test communications and it reported it was fine. Any suggestions?

  • Hi Matt,

Apologies for the delay in responding to this one. Can you let us know if you are still having problems with the RS-232 connection on this target?

From your question, it sounds as though the Monitor Program is able to communicate with the target correctly via the RS-232, suggesting that the serial interface is working correctly, and that the only problem is that the automated test is not running. If you are encountering any problems implementing the serial communication you require, please let us know.

    thanks,

    Craig.
