SHARC In-Field-Update

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADSP-21569

Hello together,

at the moment we are in the evaluation phase of different SHARC DSPs. I have a question regarding the updatebility of SHARC processors in the field. Short explanation of our setup. On our other projects we always have a external MCU connected to an SigmaDSP and its external flash memory. When we receive the update, we have the .hex file from the SigmaDSP and we can directly write it to the external flash memory of the SigmaDSP. This is easy as we have the hex file and we plan a similar way on the SHARC.

For the SHARC we either plan also an external MCU connected to the SHARC and the external flash memory or a SHARC with integrated MCU. We know how to create a bootable application with the ldr-file and load it using the cldp. But how do we get the hex-File or the real content which is written to the external memory? If we have this we could run a similar approach like we did with SigmaDSPs. Is there anyway to output this in CCES?

Best regards,

Eric
