The ADC Control Module (ACM) provides an interface that synchronizes the controls between the DSP and the Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) module. The ADC Control Module (ACM) provides dedicated hardware which samples the events and provides Sampling Signals to the ADC real-time, thus saving both the processor MIPS and providing precise controllability for ADC sampling time. The ACM only synchronizes the ADC Conversion process generating the ADC Controls, ADC Conversion Start signal etc, but the actual data acquisition from the ADC is done by SPORT/SPI or other peripherals.
