Can I access the PMU registers as co-processor register?

In ADSP-SC58x processor, PMU (Performance Monitor Unit) are memory mapped registers. So these can be accessed directly as any other memory mapped registers like SPORT, SPI etc.

But these can also be accessed using coprocessor instruction (CP15 c9).
