EV-SC594-SOM TDM Interface

The EV-SC594-SOM (with EV-SOMCRR-EZKIT) supports the A2B interface, that can transmit the I2S/TDM over to another A2B receiver , A2B cannot transmit I2S/TDM data it received from host (SC594) to a non-A2B TDM interface.

So to connect the EV-SC594-SOM (with EV-SOMCRR-EZKIT) to a device with TDM Protocol (not A2B Transceiver), you can prefer the SPORT module on ADSP-SC594 to transmit I2S/TDM data to a non A2B transceiver.

Can I bypass the ADAU1979 and the ADAU1962A and connect the SPorts TDM to External devices ? this is what you meant?

Hi Alon,

If you are trying to connect SPORT TDM to any external device without any A2B interface, you can achieve it by directly interfacing the SPORT to external device.

Although, ADAU1979 and the ADAU1962A are ADC and DAC available on the board, and these are not A2B interfaces. If you are going to use only digital audio streams to your external device, then you can skip the use of ADC and DAC on your end.
