Supply net short with ground.

During testing due to buck convertor failure the 3.3V supply net got short with GND .

In reason to that in DSP VDD_EXT (3.3V) become VDD_EXT = 0V.

Is there any option for change in supply other than VDD_EXT that is , whether VDD_REF still remains in range of –0.3 V to +1.89 V might cause all the power supply net (+1.8V , +1.35V & +1V ) short  with respect to ground ?

    Please provide more information on below points to assist better on this.

    1) Could you please confirm whether you are using Ez-kit or custom board?
    2) As per the datasheet under "OPERATING CONDITIONS", the VDD_REF range is from 1.71V to 1.89V. But you have mentioned "VDD_REF still remains in range of –0.3 V to +1.89 V", could you please explain this.
    3) From your mail we understand that the buck converter is having issue, please confirm. If yes, did you try replacing the buck converter? If the source is affected, other supplies may also get affected.

  • 1) We are using a custom board with ADSP .

    2) I have mentioned the range of VDD_REF is from 1.71V to 1.89V in reference of "ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM RATINGS" of datasheet .

    3)We have not tried on replacing it because even after removing the 3.3V failed buck convertor we noticed that all DSP net voltages are observed to be short .
