Selection of DAI0/1 pins when there's limited pin count

Thread Summary

The user inquires about the impact of leaving ADSP21569 DAI pins 7/8/9/10 unconnected due to limited pin count. The support engineer confirms that this should not cause issues and suggests referring to the 'DAI Routing Capabilities' table in the ADSP-2156x Hardware Reference Manual for routing options. No specific limitations are noted for using DAI0/1 pins 3/4/5/6.

Hi all,

say, we have a board which we want to equip with an ADSP21569 but we have limited pin count and can connect only 20 DAI pins.

Thus, we have to leave some DAI0/1 pins unconnected.

As I understand, the DAI0/1 pins 3/4/5/6 have an additional value as they can be cross connected to the other DAI.

Pins 19/20 have additional value as they can change the signal polarity in hardware.

I'd leave DAI pins 7/8/9/10 unconnected, then.

Is there any downside when doing so?

Are there any limitations when using DAI0/1 pins 3/4/5/6 ?

Best regards,

Rainer
