Writing Programs to Flash Memory via UART Using Serial Flash Programmer

Category: Software
Product Number: adsp-21569

I am currently working with the ev-21569-som evaluation board and have been using the CrossCore Serial Flash Programmer (CCSFP) to write programs to flash memory via UART. I successfully managed to write to the flash memory on the ev-21569-som by referring to the CCSFP manual.

In order to write the program, I need to change the boot mode to "UART0 subordinate Boot" by turning a dial. Similarly, to execute the written program, I must adjust the boot mode again to "SPI2 controller Boot."

I would like to streamline this process by setting the boot mode to "No Boot/Custom ROM" and configuring it via software instead. The reason for this is that I am working on my own design of the ADSP-21569, and our board does not include a dial, making it challenging to change the boot mode through hardware. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate any guidance or sample software you could provide to help me achieve this software-based boot mode setting.

I would like to know how I can write programs to flash memory via UART and execute them without the need to manipulate the dial.
