  • We have a set of DS2502 with wrong coding, is it possible to revise them? Is there any way to allow these products to continue to be used?

How many 1-Wire devices can the DS2482 drive? What is the maximum cable length that the DS2482 can drive?

The DS2482 will be able to drive a network of 30m (especially since the DS2482 has the strong pull-up feature).  A resistor pullup has a weight limitation of about 200m.  However, this does not mean that you can use 200m of cable because you also need to consider the number of slave devices on the network (each slave device is equivalent to about 1m of cable).

Not only do you have to calculate the total equivalent weight of your network, but you also have to take into account the 1-Wire timing for your 1-Wire slave of interest.  After calculating your total equivalent weight of your network, you will then have to make sure that a bit has a roundtrip considerably less than the minimum hold time.

If you are looking to create a network with a total equivalent weight of around 500m, then you would need to use an advance 1-Wire network driver.

We currently do not have data for networks at different lengths.  However, our tutorials and application notes are intended to cover these questions in order to assist the engineer in designing custom 1-Wire networks. For further reading on this topic, we recommend the following tutorial:
