ADZS-TS201S-EZLITE external connection interface

For development, It is require to use the external interface J1, J2 J3 (on the back of the eval-board) for FFT (and other computation) evaluation by means of using the TS201S eval kit. These interface would consist of data (e.g. from the AD7655) and control interface from an ASIC.

Can you advise the setup, procedure, step (and integration) in how this would be done from the External J1, J2 and J3 to the DSP board and right up to the Visual DSP sw interface. Hence capturing these data, do FFT/IFFT using the eval-board and displaying them using  visual SW and the possibility in sending these data back out via the J1, J2 J3 connectors.

(2) Do you have the schematics, layout and gerber files (preferably in PADs format). where we can use these info for connector alignments, and the TS201S eval kit area/dimension for keep-out when it is plug-in to the main board.

    The EZ-KIT Lite schematics are available on our Board Design Database page, with additional schematics also available in the TS201 EZ-KIT Lite Evaluation System Manual which can be found via the 'Manuals' link on the TigerSHARC product page below.

    Hi Ching,

              Sorry for the delay in getting back on this. I understand that you want to interface the AD7655 to the ADSP-TS201 EZ-KIT.

    Hardware:

    1. You can connect this ADC to the external port signals of the ADSP-TS201 processor. The external port signals are available on the expansion headers.

    Software:

    1. In the software you can configure the external port DMA registers to read the data from the ADC and move to the memory.

    I would suggest you to refer to the Talkthrough examples available with the VDSP++.  These codes configure the external port DMAs to send/receive data to/from the on-board ADC and DAC. You may initially test your FFT codes using the ADC and DAC on the EZ-KIT. Later you can change the ADC to the AD7655. The external memory address need to be changed as per the bank to which the AD7655 will be interfaced.

    (i ) Do you have the source code for this. can't seem to find it.

    (ii) You seem to have the PADs layout file but not the schematics. Do you have the schematic files for this eval-board, where i can link/correlate and mirrior the co-ordinate for positioning

    I have also added the passthrough example file in the attachment. The inita.c file has the external port DMA configuration code.

    Thanks for the info. I've already have (this) schematics in the manual (as .pdf).. What is required is the eval-board design PADs (.sch) format files. Appreciate if you can request this from the designer/archive.
