DS2484 behind I2C address translator LTC4317 (double, or single LTC4316)

Thread Summary

The user inquires about using the DS2484 I2C to 1-wire interface with a fixed I2C address alongside the LTC4317 I2C address translator for a multi-segment 1-wire setup. The final answer confirms that this configuration should work fine, with one DS2484 connected directly and the other two via the LTC4317. The DS2482-100 is not an option due to its address selection capabilities.

Dear forum members,

we are developing a I2C to 1-wire interface board with one I2C bus and for three 1-wire segments. Because the 1-wire master DS2484 has a fixed I2C address, can we use it together with the I2C address translator LTC4317 ? That means for one DS2484 the I2C is connected direct, and the other 2 DS2484 via your double I2C address translator LTC4317. Is there expierence with such a solution?

Because we need the advance capabilities of the DS2484 we can't use a DS2482-100 as 1w master, where we can select different addresses.

Man thanks in advance for your help and answers!

Regards,

Ralf
