I am using ADSP-21XXX and facing an issue with assembly comments. Technically, the comments should not create any issue. But in my case, if i delete some portion of the comment, it works. So I've thought of posting a question to know, how many characters are allowed in a assembly line? For example, we can use C style comment (/* ... */) and backslash ('\') to have multiple line comment or code in asm file. In both the cases, there should be some limit, which really gives me problem. Hope, somebody can help out here.
I'm not sure if there is a limit - I'll see if I can find out. What problems are you facing in your code? Are you hitting build errors when your comments are over a certain character limit?
Thanks for your response. Actually, i didn't get any build error, instead build is always successful. But, the actual issue is that i am not able to hit some breakpoints. This is, really a peculiar issue and we found the root cause as comments in assembly files. Then, it led to the investigation on technical cause and solution to that problem. I scouted through many manuals and data sheets, but no luck. Hope, you can help me out.
That sounds like something in the multi-line comments is messing up the debug information, so the breakpoints placed in the source code don't match up with the correct assembly.
Could I ask you to contact private support so we can get an example to reproduce the issue? Please use the link below to submit the support request, and include a link to this thread.
