PADS_PCFG1 register in ADSP-SC59x processor has ‘select secondary inputs to timer’ bit field. What is the use of this bit-field?
  • For the ADSP-SC59x set of processors, the GP Timer pins, TIMER0_CLK, TIMER0_ACI0, TIMER0_ACI1, TIMER0_ACI2, TIMER0_ACI3, TIMER0_ACI4, TIMER0_ACLK1, TIMER0_ACLK2, TIMER0_ACLK3 and TIMER0_ACLK4 are available as input tap at two places in the pinmux (from datasheet). The input to these signals can be selected from either of the two locations. The ‘select secondary inputs to timer’ bit field in the PADS_PCFG1 register enables us to select the input tap to these signals.

    The table below shows the PADS_PCFG1 register bit and Timer signal mapping and the input tap selected when the bit is '0' and bit is '1' on each of the Timer pins.
