--- Mike Frysinger                                           2009-02-27 02:17:20

bf54x-0.1 silicon is broken and not supported.  dont use it.

--- Vivi Li                                                  2009-03-01 23:19:19

So that means bf54x-0.1 silicon can not be used as testing board for both u-boot

and toolchain?

--- Mike Frysinger                                           2009-03-01 23:24:00

currently, yes.  bf54x-0.1 should not be used for anything.

--- Vivi Li                                                  2009-03-02 22:03:59

I also find it can not reboot on bf548-0.2 board with power kernel image for

parallel flash boot mode.

this occurs because the physmap code has a shutdown function which is run when

power management is enabled.  this function puts the flash into a suspend state

and because the Blackfin bootrom does not reset the parallel flash before

attempting to access it, it's unreadable when the bootrom attempts to boot from

it.

i dont personally see the point of the shutdown function existing in the first

place ... i'll have to ask

simple way to workaround the problem:

This bug disappear in current 09r1 branch, without this workaround.

i guess we wont worry about it if our current releases dont have a problem with

bf54x-0.2+ processor boards.
