2011-04-11 08:26:15     Loading U-Boot via Visual DSP++

I know this is a silly question, but, I have u-boot compiled into a .LDR file, even built ELF files and such; only thing is Visual DSP only wants .DXE files to load.  Unfortunately, the ELF file doesn't load!

Is there something that can convert a LDR file to DXE or even something that can convert ELF to DXE for Visual DSP++ to use to load?

Thanks in advance.

an LDR->ELF can be done by hand, but there is no documentation for it

ELF->DXE doesnt make much sense as a DXE is an ELF.  VDSP just uses an incompatible format.

i dont know what you mean by "load".  how exactly are you "loading" things ?

u-boot without any extention is an elf file. You can load this into vdsp although you get a warning that this elf format is not compliant to vdsp's elf format ( miss some debug information ).

to start u-boot you will have to locate the address of _start label, set the Program counter to found address and press F5. U-boot should start running.

Thanks,

I also found another way to load the .bin file directly for the bypass configuration using the Memory Fill option in the debuggger and resetting the PC to the start address.
