Hi

I have found the problem why the bf516f dident respond to the "@" sent via ldr viewer, it was the otp vdd and vpp that wasent powered by 2.5V. Now i can do the autobaud handshake and ldr viewer say that it answered correctly and i start downloading it by sending dxe. The file that im trying to load to the dsp is "u-boot-bf518f-ezbrd-uart-2010R1-RC2.ldr". The thing that happens is that after a while it say its done but i dont get that feedback that you should and that i get with the ez board. Do i need to do a ldr file just for the bf516f? And how do i do that? The thing thats different more then im using the bf516f not the bf518f is that the ez board uses sdram "MT48LC32M16A2P" and im using the "MT48LC4M16A2P" on my custom bf516f board.

Thx for the help.

the LDR you send must be configured and compiled for the exact board you're sending to.  loading the bf518f-ezbrd LDR onto anything other than a bf518f-ezbrd is not supported.

Hi Mike

Im trying to port the uboot to my bf516f now but i seem that the ebsz is only defined for not less then 16MB and i am using 8MB SDRAM(MT48LC4M16A2). Does uboot work with 8MB and where should i make the changes then?

//thx Kent

8MiB is weird because it is split into two 4 MiB chunks.  but at any rate, u-boot itself does not care.  simply define the SDRAM values directly yourself rather than going through the helpers (which are geared at 16MiB+ boards).

Hi Mike

I have now tried to calculate new timing values for my sdram and changes the ebiu_sdgctl and ebiu_sdrrc registers and memorysize etc.

Still no success in running it.

I have a spi flash m25p80 so do i need to change the spi flash settings too? And i have no external parallel flash so should i exclude those settings?

I dont know what else i should change?

//Thx Kent

SPI would not matter to not getting any output at all

time to start debugging.  you probably should make sure you have JTAG working.

Hi Mike

Im pretty sure that jtag is working. I have now ordered a SDRAM exactly the same one as on the bf518f ez board, is there some essential things to change when this on is mounted? Dont seem to be almost no difference between bf516f and bvf518f.

/Kent
