Apologies for this very basic question......

I am trying to compile u-boot by following the instructions provided here:

https://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=bootloaders:u-boot:compiling

I installed the toolchain for Windows (blackfin-toolchain-win32-2010R1.exe) on my Windows XP platform without any issues.

I downloaded and extracted the u-boot source code (u-boot-2010.06-2010R1-RC2.tar) into desired location (C:\temp\u-boot\u-boot-2010.06-2010R1-RC2) without any issues:

I cd to this folder (C:\temp\u-boot\u-boot-2010.06-2010R1-RC2) and type "make bf526-ezbrd".  Then I get the following:

***************************************************

C:\temp\u-boot\u-boot-2010.06-2010R1-RC2>make bf526-ezbrd

'uname' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

-x was unexpected at this time.

process_begin: CreateProcess(NULL, rm -f include/config.h include/config.mk boar

d/*/config.tmp board/*/*/config.tmp include/autoconf.mk include/autoconf.mk.dep,

...) failed.

make (e=2): The system cannot find the file specified.

make: *** [unconfig] Error 2

***************************************************

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?  Do I need to be running in some sort of shell (like Cygwin) rather than the command prompt (DOS)?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Mike,

Do you mean that building u-boot in Windows is not supported?

I'm confused about the purpose of blackfin-toolchain-win32-2010R1.exe.  Does this work in conjunction with coLinux?

Thanks,

Matt

no, it is not for coLinux.  it's for people who want to compile their own code.
