Hi,

we need a usb device driver for the bf527 to use the usbtty. We need to update our firmware from the PC over usb.

I've build the latest svn trunk. The usb host side is running well.

What is the interface for the bf52x USB device driver? Should I port the gadget driver from the uclinux?

Any ideas?

thanks

Andreas

currently, there is no gadget support in u-boot.  you could check out the upstream tree here:

  http://git.denx.de/?p=u-boot/u-boot-usb.git;a=summary

or look at the upstream mailing list as i've seen some people post patches for musb gadget

Hi Mike,

thanks for the fast reply!

What can I do if I wanted to implement a BF527 driver now? Are there any device-drivers (not Host) for other processors?

In the current trunk I can see in the gadget directory a driver for the mpc8xx_udc.c.

thx

Andreas

sorry, to be clearer, the current u-boot framework supports USB gadgets.  but the CDC stuff has not been merged which is why you'll need to look at that branch i mentioned.

plus, the musb gadget parts havent been implemented ... but patches have been posted to the u-boot mailing list.  some other USB controllers have had support merged.

most of the work will probably be picking code from the linux kernel and merging into u-boot.  i can open a tracker item for that, but no schedule yet for when it'll get done.

thanks for it so far. I'll have a look into these branch and into the linux kernel sources. Maybe things get clearer than...
