Hello,

I"m having trouble getting u-boot loaded over the UART interface on the BF518 ezboard. Everything appears to be running normally but there is no response from the Blackfin once the UART transfer completes. I have the boot mode switch set  correctly to position 7. I have tried the pre-compiled UART ldr and I have tried building one myself. Here is terminal log of the transaction. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

andy@andy-laptop:~/Projects/blackfin_linux/u-boot-2008.10-2009R1.1-rc1$ bfin-uclinux-ldr -l /tftpboot/u-boot.ldr /dev/ttyUSB0 && kermit -l /dev/ttyUSB0 -b 115200 -C connect

Loading LDR /tftpboot/u-boot.ldr ... OK!

Removing stale lock '//var/lock/LCK..ttyUSB0'

Opening /dev/ttyUSB0 ... OK!

Configuring terminal I/O ... OK!

Trying to send autobaud ... OK!

Trying to read autobaud ... OK!

Checking autobaud ... OK!

Autobaud result: 115200bps 29.491mhz (header:0xBF DLL:0x10 DLH:0x00 fin:0x00)

Sending blocks of DXE 1 ... OK!

You may want to run minicom or kermit now

Quick tip: run 'ldr <ldr> <tty> && minicom'

Connecting to /dev/ttyUSB0, speed 115200

Escape character: Ctrl-\ (ASCII 28, FS): enabled

Type the escape character followed by C to get back,

or followed by ? to see other options.

is your USB<->RS232 a cheap one ?  what if you transfer at a lower baud like 57600 or 9600 ?

i would stick with the precompiled one from our website since that is known to work.  what rev is your board and processor ?

I was able to get the u-boot loaded when lowering the UART rate to 57600. Thanks for your help.
