Hi,

I m still trying to troubleshoot why my SST parallel flash doesn't work. Anyway, now i return to basic first, and tried to do a write to bf518f-ezbrd original STM parallel flash with mw command set, but it fails to work. This is what i did,

mw.b 0x20000555 0xAA

mw.b 0x200002AA 0x55

mw.b 0x20000555 0xA0

mw.b 0x20100000 0xBB

md.b 0x20100000

After issue the 0x20100000 command, i can't see the BB i m trying to write in. Instead, it is still showing FF. Can tell me how to do a write to the bf518f-ezbrd STM M29W320EB parallel flash? If it's possible, please tell me how to read manufacturer code using the mw command set in u-boot as well? Thanks!

I need to figure out how to write to the bf518f-ezbrd board parallel flash using mw command set in u-boot, as once working, then i will do the same thing to my own board as well. If doesn't work on my board, then i m pretty sure it's due to hardware error.

Please help!! Thanks!!

Regards,

Eric

please read the documentation for the supported interface:

http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=bootloaders:u-boot:parallel-flash

as for sending/reading commands directly to the flash, you're on your own with that.  keep in mind that the Blackfin async busses are all 16bit, not 8bit, so you might have to tweak your writes a bit.

as for SST parallel flashes, i dont believe u-boot yet supports the SST command set.  only the Intel and AMD command sets.  might want to look in drivers/mtd/ to see if your flash is one of the few SST flashes supported.
