Hi,

I have only a little question...

Is it possible to use netcat simultaneously to the serial console ?

The background is following:

We produce a lot of devices and currently it is a lot of work to flash all the devices per serial console (minicom)....

I want to write a short program which uses the netcat sources to flash the devices but it should also be possible to use the serial console parallel (example for service the devices later or use the u-boot without netcat).

Is there a flag i can set?

How i can do this? initialise both devices for stdin, stdout and stderr ???

Best regards,

Patrick

when you say "netcat", do you actually mean "netconsole" ?

u-boot is designed to support multiple console devices in one build, but it can only use one at a time.  which one is controlled by the environment variables.

yes, i mean netconsole which is using the netcat protocol...

if you can tell me the file which is handling the uart input, i can try to combine the uart with the netconsole....

Thanks

there is no such thing as "netcat protocol".  netcat merely reads and writes a socket directly.

rather than mucking with the uart directly, it would probably make more sense to do it at the higher stdio layer.  simply write your own new stdio driver that calls the serial/netconsole stdio drivers indirectly.  shouldnt be too hard.
