When it is the case who can answer me theses open questions related to the u-boot?

RAM size?

ROM size?

Restrictions to ROM address location of boot loader?

Restriction to size of downloadable SW ?

Creation of vector table for boot loader and application?

Support communication between boot loader and application?

Can application control/launch boot loader / reflashing ?

Description of initial boot loader download

Listing of supported boot modes

Listing of supported file types (download)

Can boot loader itself be updated?

Any functional OS dependency (uCLinux) on target?

Does boot loader support TCM-BF537 (ext. flash) board?

Is boot loader safe against download failures / power loss ?

Is there a conflict when several devices boot in the same time on a same network ?

Are boot loader sources available?

What type of boot loader binary is provided?

Can boot loader be tailered and re-compiled?

Documentation of integration process?

Support of RS232?

Support of TCP/IP and UDP/IP?

Support of FTP and TFTP?

Does (T)FTP require any file system on the target?

Can TFTP boot from network without local copy ?

IP address configuration

DHCP configuration/activation

boot mode configuration

Other important configuration possibilities ?

What software is required on PC side for download?

Is it standard SW or freely available ?

Thank you in advanced...

Gilles

Gilles:

U-Boot is a boot loader - it will boot any supported format - it doesn't really care what is in the ldr/elf/uImage.

I think all your other questions are answered in the docs:

The TCM-BF537 is on the list. and it appears to be supported in the source:

rgetz@imhotep:~/blackfin/trunk/u-boot/u-boot-2009.08> make tcm-bf537_config

Configuring for tcm-bf537 board...

Why don't you think it is supported?

I didn't noticed before today - but Bluetechnix has their own forums here - specifically supporting their hardware.

http://blackfin.uclinux.org/gf/project/bluetechnix

and have pre-compiled images for U-Boot:
