Hello,

While working on porting u-boot to a BF537 based card, I experience trouble using an u-boot version later than 2007-R1.The problem is also present on my stamp card. I am not able to see any response from U-boot on the serial line for the latest version(s) of the uart mode  u-boot.  I am using LdrViewer to download u-boot. When loading the pre-compiled images on the stamp, I notice that the u-boot versions after 2007-R1 only has one DXE section, while 2007-R1 has two. (I saw in the forum that the first section typically is some SD ram init code, while the second is u-boot) Is there any reason for this change? and could it be the reason for why u-boot is not booting?

regards

Mads-l

I have used the 2008 and snapshot UART boot mode all the time with the linux ldr-utils - without issue.

Which exact file are you having trouble with?

the way the LDR was created was cleaned up, so comparing the structure of 2007R1 and later wont line up

Robin,

It's working with the ldr-utils, the problem seems to be the LdrViewer windows utility combined with an u-boot  version later than "2007". Anyone able to load current u-boot (2008-2009) with LdrViewer?

I don't know - I don't use Windows.

I'll ping the dolomitics folks.

It appears that the LdrViewer assumes that you have HWAIT connected properly -- Can you check SW4 - and let me know the settings? It should be (for this use case) positions 1, 2, 3 are on, and 4 are off.

ldr-utils assumes it isn't connected properly, and inserts some delays at the necessary times to make things work without the hardware handshaking.
