Hi, am trying to loading Asterisk uImage with u-boot via TFTP to my BF537 Stamp, but it giving me some prblme

i tried to check my TFTP server, it's able to load file from external network.

 

i followed the follwing insturctions to set up tftp.

shud i need to run any other terminals as like TFTP r something while loading uImage.

your TFTP server machine being able to access other machines isnt really a relevant test.  people need to be able to access the server machine directly.

 

did you follow the directions and configure your firewall properly ?  if you dont know how to do that, then simply disable it completely.

i disabled my all firewalls , but stil am getting the same problem.

 

here are the steps am performing to  load image .

 

chandu@chandu:~$kermit

 

Linux Kermit>connect

 

root:~>

 

root:~> reboot

 

bf537>

 

bf537>tftp 0x1000000 uImage.537.ast

 

then am gettingthe transmission time exceded trying again.

 

did am performing correct procedure or not??

 

MY TFTP insttructions are below.

 

chandu@chandu:~$ tftp 192.168.0.2

tftp> status

Connected to 192.168.0.2.

Mode: netascii Verbose: off Tracing: off

Rexmt-interval: 5 seconds, Max-timeout: 25 seconds

so use wireshark to sniff packets on the network to make sure things are moving properly

 

your u-boot is also pretty old.  you should upgrade to 2008R1.5 or 2009R1.

Hi Mike,

 

thanks for  reply, i tried to upgrade my u-boot to 2008R1.5 via serial. i followed the instructions below.

 

bf537> loadb

 

Linux Kermit> send /home/chandu/u-boot 1.1.6/u-boot.bin.

 

it showed some progress then, itried to test the upgraded u-Boot by giving

 

bf537>go 0x01000000

 

then it giving me starting appication at 0x1000000 and no more is coming.

 

pls help me to which address shud i need to load the new u-boot via serial or tftp

make sure to turn cache off first by doing "icache off" and "dcache off"
