Hi Mike,

I loaded the u-boot-bf533-ezkit-para-2008R1.5.hex converted from the .ldr that I downloaded from this site. I didn't compile my own version... You say that I have to compile my own version of the u-boot in the Linux using the toolchain and after that I have to do the tests of the link "http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=bootloaders:u-boot:testing" ?

Another question... When I was loading the driver of the flash programmer in the Visual DSP++, an advice was shown saying   "Trying to load an executable built for 0.5 silicon into a 0.2 silicon target ". Is there some relation between this and my problem?

But I'm using the bypass version, i've just converted it into a .hex because the VDSP didn't allow programm in this format...

you said you were using the parallel one, not the bypass one

VDSP works just fine with the files as are ... please read the documentation:

http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=bootloaders:u-boot:loading

however, i just noticed your board has 0.2 silicon.  that is not supported.  get a newer board.

OK, Mike I loaded the bypass one with the Visual DSP. But It still show the error of CRC and sometimes a error messege. I'm trying load the uClinux and I can't get a newer board (0.2 silicon). There's any way of do it? What do you recommend?

Please I have a doubt... This silicon means another board or it's just a firmware upgrade.

the Blackfin proc has no upgradable firmware.  you need a new board.  0.2 and older have too many anomalies and we've chosen not to work around them.

Hi Mike,

I wanna get a newer board, so I'm buying a new board with ADSP-BF537 where I gonna load UBOOT, uClinux and after that Asterisk application. I would like you give an advice about this... What board do you recommend, since I wanna work on Linux (host) without require to use VDSP++ on WIndows to burn the flash. Work only with Linux! Will I need JTAG ?

I hope your help... Thanks

as documented in the wiki, the BF533 requires JTAG in order to program things:

http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=bootloaders:u-boot:loading

but a BF537 can be bootstrapped over the UART ... no JTAG is needed

Mike,

I have a doubt which board I must buy:  ADSP-BF537 EZ-KIT or the SMART. I wanna port the uClinux and work with Asterisk embedded. What do you suggest??

Thanks

- Daniel

ive never heard of the "SMART" board

if you're only interested in asterisk, then you should look here:
