I'm just trying to understand - you say "hyperterminal in WinXP,", but then you list the host as suse10.0

so what exactly is working ?  what "unrecoginzable code" are you talking about ?  if it works with Linux, then stop using windows.  life will be easier during development without windows in the picture anyways.

How did you write the hex file into flash? There are no open source tools that support that.

Hi,now,i have compiled u-boot by myself, the source file is u-boot-1.1.6-2008r1.5 from our web site, and loaded its to the tartget through VDSP++ flash programming, but when i use the hyper terminal or minicom to show the u-boot,it always shows unrecoginzable code, what is wrong? the setting of serial is as follows as before:

bits per seconds is  57600

daa bits 8

party :none

stop bits :1

flow control:none

target: bf537-stamp,     host:suse  10.0

If you are using VDSP to program things - we really can't help - since we can't validiate the programming methodology.

If you want to stick with Windows - that is fine - use the Windows ldr command (included with the 2008R1.5 Windows toolchain), and load the uart-ldr image.

you also need to verify your bootmode on the board matches the bootmode for u-boot
