Hi,

I am trying to load u-boot on ADSP-BF548 board. I am using windows LdrViewer to load u-boot. Here are the steps I followed.

    1. I have installed the LdrViewer, Version 1.2.

    2. I have connected one end of usb cable with USB debug agent of the device and the other end with my machine's usb port.

    2. In hyperterminal, I have used the following configurations.

         Bits per second: 57600

         Data bits: 8

         Parity: None

         Stop bits: 1

         Flow Control: None

    3. I disconnected hyperterminal.

    4. In LdrViewer, I opened the pre-compiled ldr file u-boot-bf548-ezkit-uart-2008R1.5.ldr from the link    http://blackfin.uclinux.org/gf/project/u-boot/frs

    5. In Ldrviewer, I have selected the serial Port what I have configured in hypertermainal and the bit rate as 115200.

    6. I have tuned the switch SW1 to 7 (UART).

    7. I pressed 'Test Port' button and I got the result as 'Port ready for use. Reset hardware before autobaud'.

    8. Then I pressed SW9 (reset) button and clicked 'Autobaud'.

but I got the error 'Timeout. Check BMODE pins and reset processor before trying again'.

I have seen the troubleshooting segment also in the site but I am not able to sort out this problem. Please give me detailed explanation as I am new to embedded systems. What should I set for the BMODE?? Plz help me!!

   Thanks,

   Maha

Robin,

There is no serial cable in the pack. Should I use UART-1 to load u-boot on ADSP-BF548? Which cable I have to use? Please help me in connecting my PC with the target device? Please give me elaborate explanation as I'm new to embedded systems.

Expecting your sooner response.

Thanks,

Maha

then go buy one.  the documentation is already detailed in telling you how to load things:

http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=bootloaders:u-boot:loading

Mike,

Thanks a lot. I could load u-boot on ADSP-BF-548 successfully. For testing u-boot, I have executed some of the commands as given in the document but I have a problem right now. I have changed date and time and pressed reset button. After that I can't see any prompt as I saw after loading u-boot.

    Expecting your response.

    Plz help me!!

Thanks,

Maha

read the document entirely rather than just skimming it ... it already explains what is going on in the system
