Is your flash CFI? This is normally handled by the flash driver to populate. The number the is printed out is the value that your flash_init() returns.

Hi Robin,

My flash is CFI compatible only. Actually  flash_init() returns value as 1 for flash and 67108864(64MB) for SDRAM.

I dont know where the things goes wrong.

Senthil,

Please check whether your Flash chip commands are same as the commands in the flash driver code,

please check with the datasheet of flash chip regarding this.

Cheers, Sreedhar.

Hi sreedhar,

Thanks for your suggestion

Actually we can able erase and write flash using the existing flash drivers, So this clearly shows that there is no problem in flash commands(CFI compatible).

Also we have tested the u-boot with the uImage, everything is working fine.

Problem is we are getting  display as FLASH : 0kB during booting of uboot.

Regards, Senthil

What is the exact flash part number?

What does "flinfo" show? It should be something like:

bfin> flinfo

Bank # 1: CFI conformant FLASH (16 x 16)  Size: 16 MB in 131 Sectors

Erase timeout 4096 ms, write timeout 1 ms, buffer write timeout 2 ms, buffer size 64

After that - try recompiling U-Boot with DEBUG defined in drivers/cfi_flash.c
