Message: 52764    Hi

i transferred uboot using loadb.

But when i use cp.b  i got a message saying that the memory is read only.

So i tried

bf537> protect off 0x20000000 0x20007FFF

Un-Protected 4 sectors

bf537> erase 0x20000000 0x20007FFF

Erased 4 sectors

bf537> cp.b 0x1000000 0x20000000 $(filesize)

Copy to Flash... Flash not erased at offset 0x0 Please erase to reprogram

done

Can anyone tell why i was getting this error? also when i tried "md" the memory contains some junk values.

thanks

akash

Message: 52765    you didnt erase enough sectors ... u-boot is a lot bigger than 0x7fff bytes

please consult the documentation:

i erased whole Flash and then also got the same error.

When i use erase.. it simply giving the message "erased 19 sectors". But actually it is not erasing. When i use md i got junk values.

Is there any prob with erase?

Message: 52828    the only time there is problems with erase is when there's problems with the hardware

you didnt say what hardware you're using, but if you're using the BF537-STAMP, make sure you have all the async banks hooked up (check your switch settings)
