Summary: kernel with CONFIG_BFIN_KERNEL_CLOCK fails to boot on bf526 ezbrd 0.2.

kernel with CONFIG_BFIN_KERNEL_CLOCK fails to boot on bf526 ezbrd 0.2, while with the same u-boot and kernel, it can boot up on another bf526 ezbrd 0.1 board.

This issue may related to an old bug 4615, sincee it is ezbrd, and the other ezkit boards looks booting  up ok with CONFIG_BFIN_KERNEL_CLOCK item on , I open this tracker.

This bug is caused by SDC parameters not fit for it's SDRAM chip.

 

ADI website

(http://www.analog.com/en/embedded-processing-dsp/blackfin/BF526-EZBRD/processors/product.html)

says it use MT48H32M16LFCJ-75(VFBGA 54ball 8mmx9mm).

 

On 0.1 board, it's a VFBGA 54ball 11mmx9mm chip. Kernel boot OK in a variety of

system clocks.

 

There is a 8mmx9mm chip on 0.2 board.

But it fails if reprogram the sclk.

 

I found if increment the SDRAM_tRAS by 1, both the boards will boot at various

sclks.

But apparently it is not the timing for MT48H32M16.

 

Can I add a new timing table for this fake MT48H32M16 chip?

the bf526-ezbrd changed SDRAM chips in between revisions.  use the timings in

u-boot as their designed to accommodate both.

Fixed. I have added a new timing table for bf526-ezbrd for both trunk and

branch, and made a brief test.

Yes, it can boot up on bf526 ezbrd 0.2 with 350 clk and 70 ssclk. Close.
