Summary: Kernel build of USB gadget ethernet driver fails for CM-BF548

Details:

Hi.

I use the trunk because of the new SDIO functionality.

I tried to build the USB gadget ethernet driver and got the following:

  CHK     include/linux/version.h

  CHK     include/linux/utsrelease.h

  CALL    scripts/checksyscalls.sh

  CHK     include/linux/compile.h

  GEN     .version

  CHK     include/linux/compile.h

  UPD     include/linux/compile.h

  CC      init/version.o

  LD      init/built-in.o

  LD      .tmp_vmlinux1

drivers/built-in.o: In function `init':

drivers/usb/gadget/ether.c:(.init.text+0x171a): undefined reference to `usb_gadget_register_driver'

make: *** [.tmp_vmlinux1] Error 1

Although I used an older toolchain version, the 5195 kernel revision built ok without the gadget driver. The same error was seen on kernel rev 4804 before I tried to update.

Hmm, I found out what this was; I was building without hostside USB support.

Guess that's what I did on the BF537U. Anyway, I got it to work, so please close

this.
