I am starting new thread regarding codec ad1854 and alsa for uClinux version 2010R1-RC5. I am porting the ad1836 codec to work with ad1854. I have converted it to I2s only (no TDM) driven by the sport.

The following needs to be answered.

When running tone or vplay the driver gets stuck at SYNC() in sport_tx_dma_start. I get an error ERROR: write(/dev/dsp) failed, errno=5. I have hooked a scope to the clock of the I2s and I am not getting anything.

The tx channel of the dma is 4 which is correct. I am using the sport with i2s and the 1836 codec driver modified. Driver mounts fine. What could I have configured incorrectly or not set to get stuck here? What could stop the sport from toggling the clock line?

NVM. Had to get the sport to use internal clock.
