2011-10-24 18:09:32     disassemble firmware and re-compile?

I have an old disk drive based recorder, it uses blackfin CPU.

The problem is it has disk limitation of 137GB (I guss it's older core that only support LBA28 not LBA48).

The firmware comes as bin file and manuafactor no longer support it any more so no hope to get upgrade now.

I wonder if there is a way I can disassamle the firmware, update the IDE read/write APIs by myself and compile it back to a bin, upgrade the firmware so I can go beyond 137GB?

Please help!
