I'm investigating the how-to's of applying a SIMcard to blackfin. Contrary to normal memory smart cards,  an I2C interface will not work, probably the implementation of a bit-banging interface does. I know that some 32-bit chips out there support a SIM interface natively.  But linux kernel support seems not to be present.

I hope that some information can be collected here for reusing it for an article in the docs web.

We don't have hardware SIM interface support on the blakfin CPU. In my understanding the CLK and DATA line transaction on SIM interface is different from I2C, so you are likely to turn to GPIO simulated solution, nor the bit-banging interface will help, since it's dadicately for I2C and implemented as the I2C protocol.
