I am at a bit of a loss as where to start, but I will attempt to explain what I want to do:

 

I have a BF537-STAMP board I have been poking around with quite a bit, and I have a good feeling for the hardware pieces on the stock board.  I want to add a tertiary UART to the ASYNC Memory Bank.  I am planning on using a 16550 compatible TL16C754B that should allow me to use the existing serial_8250.h driver.  For the sake of the argument, I will just assume to use the ASYNC bank #2 (memory map of 0x20100000 to 0x201FFFFF), and I will only be using one of the 4 UARTs from the TL16C754B. 

 

Electrically, I will be tying A1-A3 from the BF537-STAMP to A0-A2 of the TL16C754B. /AMS1 will connect to the first UART's chip select.  Similarly, I know D0-D8 of the bfin route to D0-D8 of the TL16C754B, though I am not sure where to tie the interrupts into the bfin.  I can figure these portions out.

 

What I do not have a good handle on is correctly modifying <uclinux-dist>/arch/blackfin/mach-bf537/boards/stamp-uart.c.  I have copied stamp.c to stamp-uart.c and follow the directions from https://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=linux-kernel:customizing_for_your_board.

 

 

 

I have added the following sections:

Are there any solid resources on how to configure the nessary files so I can add a few UARTs, or pointers on how to begin?

look at arch/blackfin/mach-bf533/boards/H8606.c.  they're using two uarts connected via the async bank.
