Hello world

I am using uclinux 2010 distribution.The following are the options I am using to make GPRS connectivity.

/dev/ttySS1

9600

nocrtscts

defaultroute

usepeerdns

lcp-echo-failure 0

lcp-echo-interval 0

ipcp-accept-remote

nodetach

debug

maxfail 2

holdoff 5

persist

local

noipdefault

file /etc/ppp/options

connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/peers/chat/gprs-connect"

Though I am specifying the usepeerdns option, I am not getting the dns addresses.I do get the dynamic IP address assigned. When I use the same modem and sim with the PC with above config options, I do get dns addresses.

The following is the svn info of the pppd

URL: svn://blackfin.uclinux.org/uclinux-dist/branches/2010R1/user/pppd

Repository Root: svn://blackfin.uclinux.org/uclinux-dist

As I was not getting the dns addresses, from the branch I downloaded the pppd directory and following is the svn info for the same.Even this didnt help

URL: svn://blackfin.uclinux.org/uclinux-dist/branches/2010R1/user/pppd

Please refer to the document at https://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=uclinux-dist:ppp#etc_ppp_options.

Are you connect your model via UART1? The serial port1 on blakckfin has device node name /dev/ttyBF1.

Hi Sonic,

I am connecting the modem to TTYSS1.

During the IPCP packet exchange, the dns address request is rejected by the peer. (The same modem works fine with PC)

I do see that during IPCP packet exchange, the vj compression option is also requested.

The following is the log message when I dont specify vj compression

root:/> Serial connection established.

using channel 1

Using interface ppp0

Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttySS1

Is there any method through which the dns address request can be resent?
